Abstract

The productivity of healthcare professionals, especially nurses significantly influence the effectiveness of patient care and the overall efficiency of healthcare delivery.  This study examined the impact of financial rewards on the productivity of nurses in Maseru Urban.  Data was collected through self-administered questionnaires to 15 nurses in Maseru Urban. The findings of the study revealed that bonuses play a significant role in enhancing the productivity, motivation and service delivery of nurses in the health sector of Maseru Urban. The study also found that allowances and overtime pay are perceived as less influential in driving productivity compared to performance-related rewards.  This study recommends that future studies should explore the impact of both financial and non-financial rewards on the productivity of nurses.
