Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine how emotional intelligence affects worker performance in the North Sumatra Provincial Regional Secretariat's People's Welfare Bureau.  40 employees make up the sample for the quantitative research method.  Simple linear regression was used to analyze the data.  The study's findings demonstrate that emotional intelligence significantly and favorably affects worker performance.  This implies that an employee's performance will be better the more adept they are at controlling their emotions, empathy, and social interactions.  This study highlights how crucial it is to raise emotional intelligence in order to build an effective and competent government apparatus.
