Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of teachers in guiding high school students to build local potential-based businesses at SMA Negeri 1 Medan. In the context of the development of entrepreneurship among students, teachers have a strategic role as facilitators, motivators, and mentors in instilling the entrepreneurial spirit from an early age. Through a descriptive qualitative approach, data was collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation of entrepreneurship teachers and students involved in school business activities. The results of the study show that teachers not only transfer entrepreneurial knowledge, but also provide direct guidance in identifying local potential, designing products, and marketing students' business results. Consistent teacher support has a significant impact on improving students' entrepreneurial skills and confidence in running small businesses based on local wisdom. This study recommends increasing practice-based entrepreneurship training and collaboration with the local industry to support students' sustainable business development.
