Abstract

The output of this community service program provides understanding and training on basic legal knowledge that can be used by inmates in the social reintegration process. The object of this community service program is located at the Bukittinggi Class II Correctional Facility in Agam Regency, West Sumatra Province, with the target audience being inmates at the Bukittinggi Class II Correctional Facility. From initial interviews, it was found that inmates tended to lack knowledge of basic legal concepts that could be used practically in society. This community service was carried out in two stages: Stage I involved semi-structured interviews/socialization, and Stage II involved in-depth discussions. This community service found that the majority of inmates tended not to understand basic legal knowledge that could be used later in life. This community service contributed to efforts to improve legal literacy in shaping the understanding of inmates.
