Abstract

This hydroponic wick system training aimed to empower the elderly by encouraging productive activities through simple home-based planting. The training was held on April 23, 2025, at GKI Pinangsia Bapos Suvarna Sutera and involved seven elderly participants. The implementation method included oral and visual material delivery, direct demonstrations, and interactive Q&A sessions. The content covered the basics of hydroponics, the advantages of the wick system, and the practice of building a simple setup. As a result, participants understood the basic principles of hydroponics and showed high interest in applying it. This activity had a positive impact on increasing independence and psychological well-being among the elderly.
